Rain, if only the new Beatles song was as good as that. It rained and rained, it seems to be everywhere in Europe at the moment, huge sheets dropping monstrous amounts of water everywhere, causing floods in some places and constant showers or incessant downpours accompanied by an umbrella-wrecking wind. I ventured out to the record store and picked up the 30th Anniversary of Nirvana’s In Utero (1993) which included a 10-inch of B-sides. I forgot my umbrella (again/maybe luckily) but managed to make it back in between cloudbursts before leaving again to meet Olivia by the statue of Salome holding John the Baptist’s head…yes really.
I went to get the new vaccine shot today in one arm and a flu shot in the other. I didn’t feel anything, even the needle didn’t make a sound, haha. The nurse was unhappy, she was hidden away upstairs above the pharmacy, all day, every day, and small talk wasn’t really on her agenda. They told me to sit down for 15 minutes in case my arms fell off but no, it didn’t happen despite singing, “I fell right into the arms of Venus de Milo”. The vaccine has never given me any trouble, but it might just have saved me trouble. The unhappy nurse said in a rare utterance, it affects everyone differently.
I spoke to Aram who was looking after The Archive in Penzance when I wasn’t there and I tried to get in touch with Wicks, the storage house because we are having Ariel towed there to live in the car park until we can figure out our next move on getting her fixed. We have to find someone who can not only fix her but wants to try. I called Nicklas in Sweden and tomorrow I’ll be on the songs I have to listen to, but I have to go and pick up my guitar which Jorge has kindly got ready for me already, knowing I need it soon for the upcoming shows.
It was a big sesh day today, NJ Brian, Kadeem in Essex, Jeff in Ohio, and Craig in Atlanta and suddenly it was late. I do not know where the hours go. We watched Bodies (the weird TV show) over dinner and Olivia asked me if I wanted to go to the Bodies exhibition on Sunday. Real bodies, it kinda freaks me out, I want to say yes and I can’t use Liverpool as an excuse because they are playing on Saturday.
Music today has been the 30th-anniversary edition of Nirvana’s third album In Utero, originally released in 1993.
