This year has seen Record Store Day thrown into confusion with the cancellation of the annual April event. The powers that be came up with the idea of having three separate days in August, September and October under the banner of RSD Drops.
My contribution has come in September with the first vinyl edition of my 2008 album Nightjar. It will be released through Schoolkids Records on red vinyl and will be limited to 1000 copies.
Those of you in the know knew that I drew the picture on the cover and with this new gatefold edition there is unseen additional artwork from the same period.
The album contains some live favourites like Feed Your Mind and Lullaby For The Lonely as well as the often mentioned tracks The Sniper and More Is Less. The album is recorded and co-produced by longtime sonic collaborator Dare Mason.
The album seems to live in a genreless universe as it explores different styles from moody to Folk, Pop, Rock, Americana, lost love, grief, romance, hope and politics, and as always, one aspires to convey the songs with poignant lyrics and a memorable melody.
Thanks in advance for any interest you might have in picking up a copy at your local record store on Saturday, September 26th.
